Get your group's news on our homepage
The homepage is viewed about 12,000 times a month so this is an easy way to promote your group's news to a wider audience.
How to submit your stories
Any group that has either a listing or a website on SurreyCommunity.info can submit stories (if your group isn't on SurreyCommunity.info, find out more about our free websites and listings).
The stories will be added to the home page as headlines with brief accompanying text linked to the story or event on your site.
For us to include your news story on the homepage, you'll need to send us all of the following:
- The headline that you want displayed for the news (no more than 40 characters)
- Some teaser text (a summary or introduction to the news) which will appear under the headline. No more than 100 characters.
- The link for the full story (this should normally be a page on your website) - visitors to the homepage will be able to follow the link to find out more.
Ideally you should make sure that your story will be of interest to a general audience (not just members of your group). You will probably need to include the name of your group in either the headline or the teaser text (otherwise visitors may not realise who the story is about). Take a look at the news stories currently on the homepage to get an idea of the style and content that is suitable.
Send your stories to enquiries@surreycommunity.info - it'll be helpful if you can put 'news story for homepage' in the subject line of your email.
There is a limited amount of space for the news stories and whilst we'll try and include as much news as we can, we can't guarantee that we'll be able to include all stories that you send us. Neither can we guarantee how long a story will remain on the homepage. All stories will be included on the homepage at our discretion.
